Short answer: To track an OnlyFans promo, give it its own tracking link before it goes out. Then weigh the subscribers that link brings, and their spending, against the promo's cost. A promo worked when the fans it sent are worth more than you paid, in money or in the post you gave back.

  • One link per promo, never shared between sellers or swaps.
  • Subscribers and spend, not clicks, decide whether it worked.
  • Compare orders side by side before you buy from the same seller again.

Full disclosure: we make ShareYourFans®, and our order analytics are one of the tools below. Details of OnlyFans' tracking links are taken from OnlyFans' blog and Creator Center (September 2026).

1. What does it mean for an OnlyFans promo to have worked?

An OnlyFans promo worked when the new subscribers it brought earn you more than the promo cost. That means looking at three numbers in order, and the third matters most.

NumberWhat it tells youWhat it can't tell you
ClicksHow many people the promo moved to your pageWhether any of them paid
New subscribersHow many visitors decided to subscribeWhat those subscribers will spend
Spend from those subscribersWhat the promo actually earned youNothing more is needed to judge it

Your total follower or subscriber count can't answer the question on its own. In any week it moves for a dozen reasons at once: your own posts, an old drop still circulating, a fan who found you some other way. A promo only has a result if its traffic can be counted separately from everything else.

A guaranteed gains (GG) promo is a good example. The guarantee covers how many new subscribers arrive. Their spending afterwards is what decides whether you'd order from that seller twice.

2. How do OnlyFans tracking links work?

An OnlyFans tracking link is a modified version of your profile URL that counts the visits and subscriptions that come through it. OnlyFans calls these links Campaigns. Its guide to Campaigns says they show where your profile clicks come from and how many visitors become subscribers, and that each link lists how many clicks it generated and how many of those clicks turned into subscriptions.

  • Name each link for where you'll use it. OnlyFans' own examples include "Linktree bio" and "Paid promotions". For promo, name it after the seller and the format.
  • Check the Reach tab. OnlyFans' Creator Center says the Reach tab on your Statistics page shows how many guests responded to your Campaigns, trial links and other promotions.
  • Free trial links count too. If your page is paid and you promote a free trial, the trial link is your tracking link for that promo.

OnlyFans' 2023 guide puts tracking links under Profile Settings, in the Subscription section. Menus move, so if you don't see it there, look for Tracking links in your current settings.

3. How do you set up tracking before a promo goes out?

Set up tracking before a promo goes out by making a fresh link, naming it clearly, and making sure the promo uses that link and nothing else. Once a promo is live, you can't go back and separate its traffic.

  1. Create a brand-new tracking link, used by nothing else.
  2. Name it with the seller or partner, the format and the date.
  3. Hand it over: to the seller with your order, to your SFS partner with your caption, or in your drop submission.
  4. Log the cost: what you paid, or for a swap, the post you owe back.
  5. Check it after delivery, then again a few weeks later, once new subscribers have had time to spend.
Promo typeSuggested link nameWhere the link goes
Feed postSeller name, feed post, dateIn your order
Mass DMSeller name, mass DM, dateIn your order
Guaranteed gainsSeller name, GG, dateIn your order; it's how the guarantee is counted
SFSPartner name, SFS, dateWith the caption your partner posts
DropGroup name, drop, dateIn your drop submission
GG SwapPartner name, swap, dateIn the swap, so both of you can count it

Some creators give a seller only their @username. That's your choice, but a promo without its own link can't be measured, which is why we always recommend one.

4. What can you see on ShareYourFans® while a promo runs?

On ShareYourFans® Pro, an order that uses a tracking link shows its results as the promo runs, so you don't have to ask anyone for updates.

  • Feed posts and mass DMs: Pro orders carrying a tracking link report clicks, fresh subscribers and the money they brought in.
  • Guaranteed gains: buyer and seller look at the same live figures on a GG order (clicks, conversions, subscribers, revenue), and the seller gets an automatic alert once the target is reached.
  • Drops: on Pro, your drop tracking links come with ROI analytics.
  • GG Swaps: you and your partner both see the swap's progress toward the fan target you agreed.
  • Before you buy: when you and a seller are both on Pro, fan overlap shows how many fans you already share, so you know how much of a promo could be new reach.

Our Help Center covers how buying on the Promo Marketplace works, including the tracking you get as a buyer.

5. How did creators track promo before ShareYourFans®?

Before ShareYourFans®, tracking a promo was mostly manual. A buyer compared their subscriber count before and after. On guaranteed gains, the count lived in the buyer's account, so every update meant a screenshot or a message, and sellers spent days asking for them.

Here's what changed:

Tracking it yourselfOn ShareYourFans®
Proof the promo went outA screenshot from the sellerScheduled delivery, and both sides notified
GG progressBuyer sends link stats when askedCounted through the tracking link and shown on the order
Revenue from the promoWorked out by hand, if at allShown on Pro orders that use a tracking link
Comparing sellersNotes and memoryEach order's figures side by side
Shared fansUnknownFan overlap before you buy, when both are on Pro

6. How do you read the results?

Read a promo's results by comparing its own link against its own cost, then against your other promos. A few patterns come up again and again.

  • Lots of clicks, few subscribers. The traffic arrived but didn't convert. Look at your page first: your profile, your price and your free trial offer are what a new visitor sees.
  • Few clicks. The seller's audience didn't respond. That can be a niche mismatch, high fan overlap, or a promo that came down quickly.
  • Subscribers who spend little. You reached people, but not your best buyers. Try sellers whose fans look more like your current top spenders.
  • A promo that paid for itself. Buy from that seller again, or swap with that partner again, and keep using a fresh link each time.

Give it time before you decide. A subscriber's first day says little about what they'll spend over the following weeks.

7. Checklist: track every OnlyFans promo

  • Make a new tracking link for each promo, swap and drop.
  • Name it with the seller or partner, format and date.
  • Record what each promo cost.
  • Check fan overlap before buying, if you and the seller are both on Pro.
  • After delivery, note clicks and new subscribers.
  • A few weeks later, note what those subscribers spent.
  • Rank sellers and partners by spend per promo, then rebuy the winners.

8. Limits and tradeoffs

  • A link only counts what goes through it. A fan who sees a promo and later finds you through your bio won't show on that promo's link.
  • One link, one promo. Reusing a link across sellers merges their results, and they can't be separated afterwards.
  • An @username can't be tracked. If you skip the link, the promo has no result of its own.
  • Small numbers are noisy. One drop or one small feed post is a single data point. Compare several before dropping a seller or a group.
  • Analytics on orders are a Pro feature. On the free plan you can still use OnlyFans' own link stats for every promo. Pro is $35 a month for your first profile, with a 7-day free trial.

FAQ

How do I track whether an OnlyFans promo actually worked?

Make an OnlyFans tracking link for that promo only, name it after the seller and format, and make sure the promo uses it. Then compare the link's new subscribers, and what they spend over the next few weeks, with what the promo cost you.

What is an OnlyFans tracking link?

It's a modified version of your OnlyFans profile URL, which OnlyFans calls a Campaign. Each link counts its own clicks and how many of those clicks turned into subscriptions, so you can see which promo, swap or drop brought each new subscriber.

Should I judge a promo by clicks or subscribers?

Subscribers, and then their spending. Clicks show a promo reached people, but only subscriptions and what those fans spend show whether it paid off. Lots of clicks with few subscribers usually points to something on your own page worth fixing.

Can I track a promo without a tracking link?

Not reliably. Without its own link, a promo's new subscribers mix with everyone who found you that week. Some creators give sellers only their @username, which is their choice, but we always recommend a tracking link on every order.

What does ShareYourFans® Pro show me about a promo?

Pro shows each tracked order's clicks, new subscribers and revenue while it's still running. Guaranteed gains orders show both creators the same figures, and drop tracking links come with ROI analytics. Pro has a 7-day free trial.
