Short answer: A safe promo partner passes ten checks before you trade or pay. They are: verified recent stats, an account that's really theirs, a track record, an audience that fits, written terms, a tracking link, protected payment, an ad label, no login requests, and a consequence if they don't deliver. Fail one, and you wait or walk.

  • Some checks we run for you on ShareYourFans®, such as stat verification.
  • Some only you can run, such as whether their fans want your content.
  • The standard applies to any deal, on our platform or off it.

Full disclosure: we make ShareYourFans®. We wrote this standard from what our SFS, drops and Promo Marketplace already check, plus the checks only you can run, and each one says which is which. OnlyFans rules mentioned here come from its Terms of Use (checked September 2026); we use OnlyFans as the example, so check your own platform's terms too.

1. What is the Safe Promo Partner Standard?

The Safe Promo Partner Standard is our checklist for deciding whether another adult creator is safe to promote with. It covers four kinds of deal: an SFS (shout for shout, a free one-to-one swap), a drop (a group collage of up to 20 creators), a content collab (making content together) and paid promo (buying a feed post, a mass DM or guaranteed gains).

It exists because almost every bad deal fails the same few checks: numbers nobody tested, money with no way back, terms nobody wrote down, and no consequence for a no-show. The standard is free to use anywhere. On ShareYourFans®, some of it is built in.

2. The standard, step by step

Run these ten checks in order. A partner who fails one isn't necessarily a scammer, but isn't ready for this deal yet.

  1. Their stats are verified and recent. Pass if the numbers come from the platform, not a screenshot they chose, and were checked within the last 30 days. On ShareYourFans®, creators verify their Top % and subscriber count before SFS, drops or selling; free-plan stats are renewed monthly, and Pro stats refresh daily.
  2. The account is really theirs. Pass if verification confirmed they own the page they're offering. Off-platform, ask them to show the account live, not in a screenshot.
  3. The page looks active and matches its claims. Pass if their public profile posts regularly and fits the niche they say it does. This one is your judgement; we don't publish an activity score.
  4. They have a track record, or you start small. Pass if past partners have rated them. On ShareYourFans®, creators rate each other after a completed SFS, and only creators who completed an order can review a seller. No history yet? Do one small deal first.
  5. Their audience fits yours. Pass if their audience is into what you post and only a small share already subscribes to you. When you're both on Pro, fan overlap shows the share of fans you already have in common.
  6. The terms are written down. Pass if the format, the posting date and the post's lifespan are agreed in writing. For a feed post, say whether it's pinned or unpinned; for a mass DM, whether it's unsent later and whether expired fans get it.
  7. Every deal has its own tracking link. Pass if the promo uses a link made for this partner or order, so the clicks and subscribers can be counted. Guaranteed gains should be counted through the buyer's link, never the seller's word.
  8. Money is protected, or there is no money. Pass if a paid deal goes through a system that holds payment until delivery and has a refund process. SFS and drops never cost money; a fee to "unlock" one fails this check.
  9. Paid promo carries an ad label. Pass if every paid post is labelled. OnlyFans' Terms of Use ask for a tag such as #ad, #paidpromotion or #sponsored in the caption, and for the payer to be named. Our Promo Marketplace adds #advertisement automatically.
  10. Nobody asks for a login. Pass if nobody has asked for your password or a 2FA code. A promo partner never needs either, and we never ask for your platform login.

And for content collabs, one more: everyone who appears must be covered by the platform's rules. OnlyFans' Terms of Use require every person in it to be a creator you've tagged, or an adult whose ID and written consent you hold.

3. Which red flags fail the standard?

These red flags fail the standard on the spot. Each one maps to a check above.

Stats sent only as a screenshot or screen recording1Ask for verified stats, or walk away

4. How do you apply it to SFS, drops, collabs and paid promo?

Apply the standard by deal type: every check matters somewhere, but not every check matters for every deal.

5. What the standard can't promise

The standard lowers risk; it can't remove it. Be clear about what each check does and doesn't prove.

  • Verification proves numbers, not chemistry. It confirms stats and ownership. It isn't an ID check, and it can't tell you whether a partner is pleasant to work with.
  • A safe partner can still bring few subscribers. A deal can pass all ten checks and still convert poorly if the fit is off. That's what the tracking link is for.
  • Ratings take time. New creators have no history, which is why check 4 says start small rather than say no.
  • Off-platform deals carry their own risk. When you trade or pay outside a system that holds payment and records delivery, checks 1, 2, 7 and 8 are entirely on you.
  • Rules change. Platform terms on ads and collabs change; re-read them before you post.

FAQ

How do I know a promo partner is safe?

Run ten checks: verified recent stats, an account that's really theirs, an active page, a track record, a fitting audience, written terms, a tracking link, protected payment, an ad label on paid promo, and no login requests. On ShareYourFans®, several are built in.

Does ShareYourFans® verify every creator?

Every creator verifies their Top % and subscriber count before using SFS, drops or selling on our Promo Marketplace. Stats are renewed every 30 days on the free plan and daily on Pro. Verification checks numbers and account ownership; it isn't an ID check.

Should I ever pay for an SFS or a drop?

No. SFS and drops are trades, and both are free on ShareYourFans®. If someone asks for a fee to unlock a swap or join a drop, that's paid promo dressed up as a trade, and it fails the standard.

What if a partner doesn't post their side?

Message them first, since mix-ups happen. If they still don't post, report it. On ShareYourFans®, a creator who ghosts loses access to our platform until they put it right, and in drops your own spot is secured once your proof is reviewed.

Does the standard apply to deals off ShareYourFans®?

Yes. The checks work anywhere. Off our platform, you run all ten yourself: verifying stats, holding payment and recording delivery included. That's harder, which is why we built the checks into our SFS, drops and Promo Marketplace.
